Valentine’s Day – Pressed Petals DSP

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Valentine’s Day – Pressed Petals DSP

Today I have a quick and easy, Valentine’s Day card to share with you showcasing some of the lovely Pressed Petals DSP from the 2019-20 Annual Catalogue.  I’m sure many of you are like me and have an overabundance of DSP and this simple design is a great way to use it up and by simply changing the paper, sentiment & shape would work for any occasion 🙂

Little Paper Party, Pressed Petals DSP, Be Mine Stitched Dies, Valentine's Day, 1

The Pressed Petals Specialty DSP was one of the first paper packs I purchased from the 2019-20 Annual Catalogue and even though the paper is a little thinner than the standard DSP there are 24 sheets in the pack instead of the usual 12.

I chose this lovely script pattern for the background and die cut it with a stitched rectangle from my stash. I layered this onto a Merry Merlot layer (die cut with a scalloped rectangle) and then to a Thick Very Vanilla card base.

The heart was die cut from one of the photographic designs using the Be Mine Stitched Dies and as this paper is thinner than usual I adhered it to a Merry Merlot one so I could pop it up on my card base.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments (retired) and I die cut it using the Ornate Frames Dies (carrying over from the Holiday Catalogue). I popped this up as well and added a few tiny pearls and a bow of Linen Thread to finish it off.

I like to dress up the insides of my cards as well so added the same cardstock layers as the front and a few smaller die cut hearts along the bottom for a pop of colour  – a great way to use up the scraps 🙂

I really like how this simple card turned out and even though it’s a Valentine’s Day card I think it would be perfect to give to a close female relative/friend – that’s what I’m planning to do anyway 😉 I think this design would work for other occasions as well like engagements, weddings, anniversaries & Mother’s Day and may have to make a few more to have on hand and then add the appropriate sentiment as needed 🙂

Cheers,
Karen
