In the Spotlight – Kerchief Card Kit

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson |In the Spotlight – Kerchief Card Kit

I’ve finally gotten around to playing with the Kerchief Card Kit (a FREE Sale-A-Bration item) which was one of the first goodies I chose when we were able to pre-order from the 2020 Mini Catalogue and I’m so glad I did as the cards are even prettier in person 🙂

This kit comes with everything you need to assemble 8 cards – except a pair of scissors to cut the twine, which is one of the things I love about many of Stampin’ Up! kits and also makes them perfect to gift to a crafty someone who doesn’t have many supplies.

Little Paper Party, Kerchief Card Kit, Stitched All Around, 1
I decided to make two cards as per the kit instructions and it is so relaxing to simply follow designs that someone else has thought out and have all the embellishments pre-cut and ready to go 🙂

While I did enjoy the kit as is, I thought I’d have a go at changing up the cards a little as I need some more birthday cards to add to my stash and really wanted to use a large sentiment from Stitched All Around.

I die cut a rectangle from the centre of the red card and used the inside of the envelope to create a background where I stamped my sentiment. I popped my frame up using the Foam Adhesive Strips and as soon as I did regretted that I hadn’t made this a shaker card – I think that would look awesome! I layered this onto a Petal Pink layer and then a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card base.

I used a die from the Be Mine Stitched Dies to trim the larger borders off the blue card and then created a simple layout using the envelope liner, border & the embellishment cluster from the kit. I used the back of the card for a layer and adhered this to a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card base. I didn’t want to waste the other border so popped it on the inside which adds a lovely little detail 🙂

I really enjoyed playing with this kit and think this is the perfect one to pick up if you like having some quick & easy cards to make, they’re super pretty as is, but you can always change them up if you want a different look or to make the materials go further.
