Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Playing around with #GDP126

Hi everyone, today I have a quick and easy card to share with you made using the Epic Celebrations stamp set ( a FREE Sale-A-Bration choice) and my newly inked up Sheet Music. I knew I wanted to use these two together as soon as I saw the electric guitar image and really like how my project turned out.

The design inspiration is from this weeks Global Design Project challenge, #GDP126, which is a sketch challenge and a really classic layout that you could do so much with.

Little Paper Party, Epic Celebrations, Sheet Music, One Wild Ride, #GDP126, #1

The music is from Sheet Music, which is a background stamp. To get the oval shape I die cut an oval from some scrap cardstock, placed the negative over the stamp and inked up inside the outline, then stamped this onto my card front. I tried stamping over the negative die cut onto my card front, but couldn’t get a good result.

I added a little extra grunge with one of the background images from One Wild Ride and think it ties in nicely with the sketchy outline of the guitar.

I stamped the guitar in Momento Black ink and coloured it with both Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers. I stamped it again on my card front as I was going to fussy cut out the coloured guitar image and would lose some of the sketchy outline, this would put it back and I didn’t have to worry about perfect fussy cutting – not achievable for me I’m afraid 😦

The sentiment is also from Epic Celebrations, stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink, trimmed and popped up with dimensionals.

I layered my card front onto some Cherry Cobbler and then a Basic Black card base. I didn’t add any extra embellishments as I want this as a masculine card and anything extra just seemed too much – it was so hard not to though 😉

I hope you like my fun card today, still gotta work on my blending skills, but I’ll get there.

Cheers,
Karen
