Festive Friday

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Festive Friday

Today I have a Christmas version of the little treat buckets I shared with you on Wednesday and I’ve packaged them up this time, ready for gift giving or selling.

Even though today is Festive Friday all my little goodies aren’t Christmas specific, but could be with a simple sentiment change. Our Spring fetes and fairs will be starting soon and these would make lovely additions to any stall as well as thoughtful little gifts for any occasion.

Little Paper Party, Festive Friday 2017, 3 x 6 Gusseted Bags, Fete and Fair Ideas, #1

I used the 3″ x 6″ Gusseted Cellophane Bags to package up my buckets of fun and made an easy insert that gives the bag extra body and makes the contents look even more special. Each insert and sentiment was customised to suit the contents and I love that Stampin’ Up! has so many paper and stamp options to make this possible.

Please excuse the glare in the photos, it was impossible to photograph these without reflection from the bags 😦

This first bag is my favourite with all the little sewing notions inside and the bucket could be put to good use as well, it would make the perfect ort container or could easily be converted into a sweet little pincushion – sorry, getting off track a little there 🙂

One of the suites in the *new* Holiday Catalogue is the Quilted Christmas Suite and this project uses the Quilted Christmas DSP to pretty up the insert as well as the coordinating Quilted Christmas Ribbon for the bow.

This suite of products is so versatile and perfect for sewing, quilting or needle craft lovers at any time of year. I chose a sentiment from Crafting Forever to create an all occasion gift, but a simple change could make it a birthday, Christmas, thank-you… there’s no end really 🙂

My second bucket has an assortment of beauty products inside and would be great for little girls upwards – depending on the contents. I used the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP and added a sentiment from Tin of Tags. The little wreath is from Brightly Lit Christmas (available 1/9) and gives it a Christmas feel, but leave that off and you’d have an any day gift 🙂

My final bag is definitely Christmassy, both the paper and contents. I haven’t used the bucket in this one – my family insisted it was too cute to change – but it would be so easy to fill one up with all the little toys that kids love.

I used the Christmas Around the World DSP (available 1/9) on the insert and the sentiment is from Merry Little Labels (available 1/9) die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

The bags of my inserts are blank, but you could add DSP to them to pretty them up or it would be the perfect place to slip a list of contents and your details if you were selling them.

A Quick and Easy Tutorial:

Finished Dimensions: 2-3/4″ x  4-3/4″ x 2″ (7 x 12 x 5cm)

Cardstock: 2-3/4″ x 8-1/2″
DSP: 7/8″ x 2-5/8″, 4-5/8 x 2-5/8″, 5/8″ x 2-5/8″

  • Score the cardstock @ 1″, 3″ and 7-3/4″ (on landscape side)
  • Fold and burnish the score lines
  • Adhere the DSP pieces to the corresponding sections, making sure the direction is correct
  • Open and flatten out the base of the gusseted bag and insert the cardstock insert
  • Apply Tear and Tape to the base seam and adhere this flat (optional), this will help the bag sit flat
  • Insert your contents and any extra information in the back
  • Fold the 3/4″ flap to the outside of the bag and adhere. The buckets made my bags quite fat so I used glue dots on just the corners to close the top
  • Add a sentiment with dimensionals and any extra embellishments

I hope you liked today’s project – despite the glare-y photos – these were so much fun to put together and once I’d started getting content ideas it was difficult to stop 🙂
