Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Australia Day Fun – Part 4
Today I have the final project in my Australia Day series using the fun Birthday Bonanza Suite to share with you, and what better way to finish off a celebration than with a little sparkle 🙂
I decided to make two different styles of holders to be suitable for who you’re giving these to (glowsticks are safer for littlies) and where you live (sparklers may not be allowable in some of the bush fire areas). They’re made basically the same way with just a couple of extra score lines for the glow sticks and wider bellyband.
NOTE: I purchased the sparklers and glow sticks from Coles (in Australia) so you may have to make adjustments to the measurements if you have smaller or larger products.
Both the holders start out with a 10-1/4″ x 1-1/2″ piece of cardstock and have a 10-1/4″ x 1″ strip of Birthday Bonanza DSP in the middle for a cheerful background. I rounded all the corners using the Detailed Trio Punch, which is optional, I just like the way it looks 🙂
I added three score lines and punched some holes using my Crop-o-dile (Non SU) which were the perfect fit for the glowsticks and created a template from retired cardstock to work out the hole placement for the sparklers and used my Crop-o-dile & 1/16″ hole punch (retired) to keep them in place.
TIP: You don’t have to use hole punches for your items, you could use glue dots or tape to keep them in place instead.
The belly bands are decorated with the koala from Bonanza Buddies holding a rather large sparkler – it looks a bit dangerous really 😉 and I added a sentiment from A Little Sparkle (Lawn Fawn), which finished them off perfectly 🙂
Here’s the How To:
Sparkler:
Cardstock 10-1/4″ x 1-1/2″ – Use Crop-o-dile 3/16″ & 1/16″ hole punches
DSP 10-1/4″ x 1″
Belly Band: 2-1/2″ x 4″ – Score @ 1 & 2-11/16″
Glow Sticks:
Cardstock: 10-1/4″ x 1-1/2″ – Score @ 4-3/4″, 5-1/8″ & 5-1/2″, use 3/16″ hole punch
DSP: 10-1/4″ x 1″
Belly Band: 2-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ – Score @ 1-1/4″, 1-9/16″, 3-1/8″ & 3-7/16″
I really enjoyed making these simple projects and think they would dress up any celebration, I know I focused on the koala image as I was making an Australia Day themed set, but am looking forward to inking up the other images from the Bonanza Buddies as well, they look like a crazy little bunch 🙂
Cheers,
Karen
