Making Christmas Bright

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Making Christmas Bright

Today I have a quick and easy card to share with you made using the *new* Making Christmas Bright stamp set from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue that will go live on September 5 – only a few days now 🙂

The design was inspired by this week’s CAS(E) this Sketch #287 challenge. It’s been a while since I joined in a challenge and this was a fun one to get my feet wet again.

Little Paper Party, Making Christmas Bright, Christmas Pines, CTS#287, #1

I decided to ink up the string of lights from Making Christmas Bright (available September 5) to use for the diagonal part of this sketch and thought they’d look great in rainbow colours.

I used Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point, Gorgeous Grape and sponge daubers to create the colourful halos around each light.

A Blender Pen and the same colours added some intensity to each bulb and finished off my super simple colouring.

The sentiment is from Christmas Pines (in the 2018-19 Annual Catalogue) and I thought paired beautifully with my bright, cheerful lights.

I stamped it on Basic Black cardstock with Whisper White Craft ink, added White Embossing Powder and heat set that with my Heat Tool.

I wanted a more geometric look for my sentiment shape and one of the banners from the Gift Card Envelopes & Trims Thinlits was just right. This thinlit set is retired but is currently available in the Clearance Rack (Australia) – make sure you keep an eye on the Clearance Rack, you just never know when past goodies are going to pop up!

I added a string of lights along the bottom to dress up the inside and stamped a simple Merry Christmas (from a retired set) to finish off my clean and simple (CAS) card.

I can’t believe this is my first Christmas card this year, usually I have a few under my belt before now! I really like how today’s project turned out and it’s very suitable for making in bulk, I might have to make a few to catch up 😉

Cheers,
Karen
