In the Spotlight – Eclectic Expressions

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | In the Spotlight  – Eclectic Expressions

Today I have a really simple, fun card to share with you using not just one, but two FREE Sale-A-Bration items. Both the Eclectic Expressions and Party Pandas are Level 1 rewards, which means you can choose either one of them for FREE with a $90 order and both are fun versatile sets that would be a great addition to your stash.

I’m playing along with the #TGIFC149 challenge this week which is a colour challenge. It really got the wheels working overtime to think of a design where Emerald Envy, Lemon Lime Twist and Gold would work together, but I think I got there in the end 🙂

I’ve seen lots of designs with textural stamps creating a fun background so decided to try that using two of the circular images from Eclectic Expressions. I did have a practice first on my Grid Paper to work out how I wanted the design to look and then repeated it on my Whisper White layer using both the greens.

I heat embossed the sparkle image with Gold Embossing Powder to add a little more gold to my card and cover up some over-zealous inking on my balloon string 😉

I stamped one of the pandas from Party Pandas in Basic Black and got to use my brand new Stamparatus for the first time 🙂 It was great to be able to stamp this little guy more than once to get the intense black I was after and not have to worry about lining the image up again.

I covered up his little balloon with a larger one punched from Gold Glimmer Paper using the Balloon Bouquet Punch and popped it up to add some texture to my project. A little shadow using the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Marker hopefully adds to the illusion of him floating away and a simple sentiment in Emerald Envy finished off my card front.

Note: Emerald Envy is one of the retiring 2016-18 In Colours. If this is one of your favourites make sure to stock up on ink refills and cardstock soon. Retiring In Colour supplies usually sell out long before the next Annual Catalogue goes live (in June)

I hope you liked my quick and easy card today, wouldn’t these be great to make in bulk and have ready for all sorts of occasions, just change-up the sentiment and image and this could be a really versatile design 🙂

I’ll see you tomorrow with my second Bunny Hop project.

Cheers,
Karen
