Bunny Hop | Wood Crate Chickens

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Wood Crate Chickens

Welcome to the second project in my Bunny Hop, today I have a cheerful packaging idea for a Lindt chicken to share with you. I used the Wood Crate Framelits and Sweet Soiree DSP which seemed the perfect combination for an Easter chicken 🙂

To be more economical with my DSP I cut my crates from a piece 6″ x 6″. You will have a small piece missing from one of the bases, but it can be hidden on the inside and no one will notice it, this way you can make four from one 12″ x 12″ piece of DSP and make this gorgeous paper go a lot further 🙂

Our Gusseted Cellophane Bags are the perfect fit for the finished Wood Crate and were perfect to hold my chickens safely in their nest, you could just have the chickens & nest in the crate by themselves, but these ones will be travelling and this will keep everything together.

To close the top of my bags I die cut a scalloped oval from a scrap of Sweet Soiree DSP using the Layering Ovals Framelits, folded it in half and stapled it in place. I covered up the staple with a bow of Smoky Slate Gingham Ribbon which adds a sweet little embellishment at the top.

I stamped one of the eggs in Daffodil Delight and some rabbits in Soft Suede from the Hello Easter stamp set and fussy cut them out for the main decoration on my crates.

I decorated one of the crates using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and coordinating Tree Builder Punch and love that sweet basket of flowers that the bunnies are playing around.

On the other crate I die cut flowers and leaves using the Support Ribbon Framelits and added a Glitter Enamel Dot in the middle for some sparkle.

These are just a couple of ideas of how you could add a little something to dress up your crates, I’m sure we all have something in our stash that would be perfect, it’s really the DSP and Easter stamps that are the stars the show – and the chicken, of course 😉

I hope you liked today’s project and please excuse the photos, cellophane bags are so hard to photograph well 🙂 This is such a cute project and they look so much nicer in person, I hope you’ll give it a go.
