Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Valentine’s Day Treats #3 – Flat Gift Bag
Hi everyone 🖐 I have the third project in my Valentine’s Day series to share with you today which is a simple, flat gift bag & the easiest of them all, but still looks pretty darn cute 😊
I thought I’d change it up from traditional Valentines colours and have used the Playing With Patterns DSP from the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue to create my fun bags. This is a 6″ x 6″ DSP pack, but you’ll only need a 5″ x 6″ piece for each bag so it’s a great project for those 6″ x 6″ pads we need to use up.
I added a little notecard to mine cut from Thick Basic White cardstock to 2-3/4″ x 4-3/4″ and if you didn’t want to write a note it’s also the perfect place to adhere a gift card, tea bag or other small treat.
I had great fun creating the embellishment for this little bag and used stamps & dies from the Lots of Heart Bundle using the bright colours in this paper pack. A little swish of ribbon behind my popped up embellishment adds a lovely texture and a little shine, I’m so glad I decided to add it in 😊
Here’s the How To:
Finished Size: 2-13/16″ x 4-1/2″
DSP: 5″ x 6″
- Score @ 1-1/2″ & 4-3/8″ (on the 6″ side)
- Turn 90°
- Score @ 1/2″ (on the 5″ side)
- Fold & burnish score lines
- Remove the bottom side tabs and wedge the centre to create the bottom
- Add Tear & Tape to the centre back and bottom (see video for tips if using 1/4″ tape)
- Assemble bag & decorate as desired
I love how this little bag turned out, especially it’s non-traditional colourway. I’m a little annoyed that I didn’t have any goodies on hand when I made my video, but lots of small thin treats will work and I’ll have to pick some up before I gift these ones 😊
