Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | HBD – Special Someone

Hi everyone 🖐 I have a sweet birthday card to share with you today using the Special Someone stamp set and Playful Alphabet Dies from the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue.

For one of the main decorative elements on my card I used the Pleased As Punch DSP (retired), this is currently (20.9.20) on the Clearance Rack (in Australia) and was one of my favourites from earlier this year. I used it for the background, words, balloons & grass on my card, but you could substitute any bright & cheerful DSP for a similar look.

I die cut lots of elements to create a fun scene for the front of my project, using the Playful Alphabet Dies, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Special Day Dies as well as some stitched and scalloped rectangles from my stash.

The little animals from Someone Special were coloured in with Stampin’ Blends and each hold a lovely rainbow striped balloon. The sentiment was die cut from the same paper as the balloons and I popped up all the rainbow elements for some extra interest & texture.

The final touch was a little sparkle from my Clear Wink of Stella on the balloons & letters, this is so pretty when the light hits it ✨

To finish off the inside I added similar layers to the front and a couple more balloons to tie everything together.

This card took a very different direction to how I initially planned it, but I’m so happy with how it turned out. I really like the offset focal image & plan to make a few more in this style with a vertical sentiment on one side 😁
