Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Lemon Zest fun
Happy Friday everyone! I’m really looking forward to the weekend after such a busy week playing catch up and I’ve saved my favourite card of the week to share with you today. It features one of the fun images from Lemon Zest and the not retiring 2016-18 In Color, Flirty Flamingo.
I love to browse Pinterest for inspiration and after I saw this card, I knew I had to make my own version using Stampin’ Up! products. I loved the bright colours in the original and thought it was such a fun way to use this stamp set a little differently.
I stamped the slice image from Lemon Zest in Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi (retiring) randomly over my card front, leaving a clear space for my sentiment.
I inked up the same image using Flirty Flamingo and carefully removed the ink from the rind using a tissue. I used a Stampin’ Write Marker to colour just the rind and stamped my image on a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock.
I did this three times using Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie markers. As I hadn’t removed all the ink from the stamp, the colours blended to create something new and I loved how that looked.
I punched them out using the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch and added them around the edges. I popped up three with dimensionals and adhered a cut off piece flat.
Note: Although the Lemon Zest stamp set and coordinating Lemon Builder Punch are not retiring, the cost saving bundle is, so make sure you order them before May 31 to save 10% off the price.
The word “enjoy” is from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits (retiring – available while stocks last) and I cut it out four times, once from Flirty Flamingo cardstock and three times in Whisper White. I adhered them all together to give dimension to this element that looks great from any angle.
The Mini Treat Bag Thinlits are on the Retirement List and I’ll be so sad to see them go. Not only have I used the bag again and again, the extra elements have been a go-to so many times, I don’t know what I’ll replace them with. If you’ve had your eye on this set, don’t wait to add it to your order as it’s only available while supplies last!
I added a Flirty Flamingo layer to my card front and adhered them both to a Thick Whisper White card base. A bright and cheerful card suitable for lots of different occasions 🙂
I hope you’ve all had a great week and are enjoying the last few days of the Easter holidays. We saw some Gold Medal wins in the Commonwealth Games last night, I can only imagine the excitement those athletes must have felt, congratulations to them all (especially the Aussies)!
See you next week!
Cheers,
Karen
