Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | To-da-loo Truly Tailored
Today I have a truly quick and easy card to share with you made using the Truly Tailored stamp set (retiring) and coordinating True Gentleman DSP (retiring – available while stocks last). I have to admit that I haven’t even inked this fun set up, I was feeling quietly confident that it would be around for a while, but boy was I wrong 😦
I’m playing along with this weeks’ challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch! #267 and thought this simple design was perfect to showcase one of the bold patterns in the True Gentleman DSP pack.
I chose the plaid pattern as the feature for this card and cut it to 9 x 9.5cm. I cut it again at 6cm (on the 9cm side) to allow me to split it apart and create the contrasting band towards the top.
The Night of Navy cardstock layer is cut at 11.5 x 10cm which added a nice border around my DSP piece and also acts as the contrasting band at the top.
I try to keep my guy cards simple and uncluttered, I think they like detail, but don’t want fussy – in my humble opinion anyway 🙂 so I dressed up that plain band with some of those sweet bow ties fussy cut from a different sheet and popped up with dimensionals. Hopefully there’s enough contrast and texture to keep it from bland, but save it from fussy 😉
The card base is in Thick Very Vanilla cardstock which is one of the colours in the True Gentleman DSP. I added a sentiment from Truly Tailored in Chocolate Chip (retiring) towards the bottom and a couple of stars from the Regals Enamel Shapes (retiring – available while supplies last) to add a little shine.
Note: Chocolate Chip is one of the current Core Colours that will be retiring as part of the Colour Revamp. Accessories, markers and cardstock are only available while supplies last, ink pads and refills are guaranteed until May 7 and then while supplies last. If this is one of your favourites make sure to stock up on supplies in my Online Store today.
I really like this simple way of using the True Gentleman DSP and plan to make more cards along the same lines. I’m in use-it-up mode now and want to use up as much of the wonderful DSP I already have to make way for the gorgeous new papers to come – they are amazing, just wait and see!
I’m going to be starting a use-it-up series this week and will highlight a different DSP each time, as well as have some giveaways for you to make your own, I hope you’ll join in and help me 🙂
See you tomorrow with a Made for Mum project.
Cheers,
Karen
