Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | No.1 DAD
Welcome to another Masculine Monday and what better project to start the week with than a treat box for dad. Father’s Day falls on the 3rd of September this year and I always find that celebrations at the beginning of a month seem to catch me unawares so I’m trying to get on top of things by preparing now 🙂
The box I have to share with you today is a companion piece to the milk carton from last week and I designed it specifically for the Darell Lea Tallsorts but you could fit all sorts of other treats or small gifts in there as well. You can get two from one A4 sheet of cardstock so they’re quite economical and would make a nice addition to the Father’s Day stall.
I think this style of box is called a pizza box and is very easy to make with just one piece of 3-1/4″ x 11-1/4″ cardstock, a few score lines and some trimming. Perfect to make in bulk 🙂
I used the same cardstock, paper and colours as the milk carton but used the Badges and Banners and Guy Greetings stamp sets for the sentiment this time. The badge and No.1 were punched with the coordinating punches and “dad” was punched with the Duet Banner Punch then reinserted and punched again to create this mini banner.
A Quick and Easy Tutorial:
Finished Dimensions: 2″ x 4-1/2″ x 3/4″
Cardstock: 3-1/4″ x 11-1/4″
DSP: 4″ x 6-1/2″
- With the cardstock in landscape score @ 3/4″, 5-1/4″, 6″ & 10-1/2″
- Turn 90° and score @ 3/4″ & 2-3/4″
- Fold and burnish the score lines
- Trim and notch tabs
- Chose one end to be the top and punch a notch with a circle punch (optional)
- Add adhesive to tabs and assemble your box
- Finger wrap the DSP around the box, reinforce score lines and adhere at the back making sure it can slide off easily to open the box
- Embellish as desired
I hope you liked todays quick and easy project and I’ll be sharing a coordinating card to finish off this set later this week.
My 12 Weeks of Halloween series starts this Wednesday and I’ll be sharing a Christmas version on Fridays – where possible – this series was super popular last year and I hope you’ll enjoy this years’ just as much.
