Masculine Monday – Monochrome

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Masculine Monday – Monochrome

Hi everyone 🖐 This year I’m trying to build up my stash of birthday cards – I never seem to have one when I need one 🙄 I need masculine cards the most and was inspired by this card on Pinterest to create a set of monochrome cards using the Pattern Play stamp set from the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue.

My Stamparatus really got a workout with this design, but it was worth it as I could stamp my design twice to intensify the colour. I started with a 1/4 sheet of Basic White & lined my stamp towards the top of my cardstock. After I stamped the first section I moved my cardstock and lined up the next section, made a mark on my grid paper where I had to stop and stamped again, I repeated this process one more time and then I had a quick and easy guide for the rest of my card fronts.

I decided to cut my card fronts down after I’d stamped them and then added a 1/4″ strip of Basic Black cardstock along the edge of the stamped area as a border. I found a sentiment from my stash and used the second plate in my Stamparatus to line this up where I wanted it to quickly add it to each card front and then trimmed a second strip to fit around the sentiment.

The inside is simply finished off with the same black & white layers as the front.

I love how these cards came together and it was definitely worth it to set up my Stamparatus for repeat stamping and then send a few card fronts through to create a nice little stack ready to go and if you want even faster cards a strip of DSP would work perfectly as well 😁

Cheers,
Karen
