Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | #simplestamping – Inspiring Iris
Hi everyone 🖐 I’m playing along with this month’s #simplestamping challenge (only just made it 😅) which is to create a thankyou card using only ink, paper, stamps & ribbon and, of course, to keep it simple.
I’ve used the Inspiring Iris stamp set for my card which is a great set to start out with as it’s photopolymer – so you can really see where you’re stamping and has both outline & fill in images that are easy to line up.
I cut a Whisper White panel to 6 x 8.8cm and stamped my flower & sentiment in the centre. I used Momento Black ink for the flower outline & sentiment, Pear Pizzazz for the stem & Real Red for the flower head.
I wanted to add a little extra interest to this panel so stamped the flower head again on a scrap, fussy cut it out and popped it up over the original. I added a little bow of Braided Linen Trim and used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to keep it firmly in place.
TIP: The Fine Tip Glue Pen needs time to dry so use a block or reverse tweezers to keep the ribbon in place until it’s secure.
I added this panel to a Real Red one cut to 6.5 x 9.3cm and then adhered this to a standard Thick Whisper White card base using Tombow. Tombow is great for this as it allows little time before drying so I could line up my centre panel perfectly.
To add a little interest to the inside I stamped the flower again in one corner which gives me lots of room to write a personal message.
I really like how this card turned out and think the only thing I’d add to step it up would be a little sparkle, maybe a few rhinestones or a little Wink of Stella on the flower head, but nothing else as it would lose it’s CAS appeal 😊
Cheers,
Karen
