Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | 12 Weeks of Halloween 2020 – Week 11
Hi everyone 🖐 I have the 11th project in this year’s 12 Weeks of Halloween series to share with you today – only 1 more to go now 😥 and I’m mixing it up a little and making a mini banner instead of a treat holder using the Plaid Tidings DSP & Playful Alphabet Dies.
To create the “flags” for my banner I used the smallest of the Celebration Labels Dies and scrap pieces from my Plaid Tidings DSP. Some of them weren’t big enough to cut a whole label from, but I used them anyway as I was folding them in half & no on will see the back where I’m planning to put mine – waste not, want not 😊
I used the Playful Alphabet Dies and Basic Black cardstock to create my sentiment, I love this option as you can say anything you like. This is a great alphabet set as there are several multiples of letters, so to cut my entire TRICK OR TREAT greeting only needed two passes through my die cutting machine 😁
To help the letters stand out against the background I layered them onto Crumb Cake cardstock and popped them up with dimensionals on each flag piece. I used the 3/8″ Embroidered Ribbon to hang my banner as it’s a neutral that works well with all the patterns & colours of the flags, it doesn’t curve much which is fine for where I’m going to put mine, but if you wanted more you might need to use a thinner ribbon or twine instead.
I love how this banner turned out and plan to hang it on top of the bookcase in my lounge room and if the checks & plaids don’t work for your décor chose another DSP & ribbon which will give it a completely different feel. This would be a great project for kids to make as well as it’s so simple and could keep them out of mischief for an hour or two 😄
Cheers,
Karen
