Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Masculine Monday – Geared Up Garage
Hi everyone 🖐 I have an easy masculine style birthday card to share with you today using the Geared Up Garage stamp set & coordinating Garage Gears Dies from the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue.
I decided to frame my small images using the Peek-a-Hoot Dies (in the Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalogue), this is one die so perfect to create a frame on your card front and fill with all sorts of little images 😊
I lightly drew around the insides of the cut outs on a second piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to get the correct placement for my images and stamped the oil stain in Grey Granite (1st & 2nd generation) & the image outlines in Basic Grey then added a few touches of colour with my Grey Granite Stampin’ Blends.
The sentiment is from a retired MFT set and I layered it up with one of the die cuts from the Garage Gears Dies. I die cut a few of the gears from Grey Granite cardstock as well and added Clear Wink of Stella to all the “metal” parts as well as a few touches on each image.
I popped up the frame with Foam Adhesive Strips over the images and added a piece of Wood Textures DSP (retired) behind for extra interest.
The inside has layers of Grey Granite & Crumb Cake with more stamping in two corners for a little decoration. I’ve left off a sentiment for the moment, but can easily add one later on if I want to.
I have to admit this card didn’t quite work out how I’d imagined it, but when I was showing my youngest son the projects I’d been recently been working on, this was the one that got the “wow” so it appeals to one person at least 😉
