12 Weeks of Halloween 2020 | Week 2

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | 12 Weeks of Halloween 2020 – Week 2

Welcome to the second project in this year’s Halloween series! This week I have a much smaller box to share with you made using the Plaid Tidings DSP & Tags Tags Tags stamp set.

The style of box I’m making today has been around for a long time & there are lots of variations, but I’m using this template from Janina Baltrusch that I found on Pinterest that was the perfect size for a 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP.

I thought I’d include some projects that didn’t involve die cutting in this year’s series 😲 as I know not everyone uses dies or owns a die cutting machine. So today I’m just using two punches for my simple project the 1-1/2″ Circle Punch & Trio Punch.

As this box is so little I kept the embellishment minimal and just added a little ribbon and simple tag (I’ll show you a trick to make the tag in the video).

Here’s the How To:

DSP: 6″ x 6″

  • Score @ 7/8″, 2-1/2″, 4″ & 5-1/2″
  • Make a small mark @ 3-1/4″ top & bottom
  • Turn 90°
  • Score @ 1-1/2″ & 4-1/2″
  • Join marks with corners to create triangles in centre
  • Trim tabs, fold & burnish
  • Round corners
  • Adhere tabs to inside

These little boxes would be perfect to make in bulk as they don’t use many materials and  could be made in advance and assembled later. They’re a nice size for some little treats and if you were after some non-food ideas Lego minifigs, rub-on tattoos, fake spiders/bugs or erasers are a few ideas that spring to mind.

Cheers,
Karen
