Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | 12 Weeks of Halloween 2020 – Week 1

Welcome to this year’s 12 Weeks of Halloween series where I’ll be sharing a 3D Halloween themed project every week using products from the current Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalogue & Annual Catalogue.

Today I have a quick & easy box to start us off with, made using items from the Plaid Tidings Suite – another one of my favourites in this year’s Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalogue 🙂

This is a generous sized box (for treats) that measures 3-3/8″ x 3-3/8″ x 1-1/4″. The base and lid are both made from 6″ x 6″ pieces and scored at 1-1/4″ on all four sides. I trimmed approx. 1/8″ off two adjacent sides of the base piece (before scoring) for an easy fit.

I stamped a sentiment and image from Celebration Tidings onto a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and die cut it out using the coordinating Celebration Labels Dies. To add the Embroidered Ribbon I used the Trio Punch to cut the holes, but you could use any hole punch you have or simply adhere the ribbon to the back of the label piece.

I kept the embellishment very simple and just added a few sprigs, die cut from Black Glimmer paper and a few of the Monster Bash Enamel Shapes (from last year’s catalogue) that are currently on the Clearance Rack.

I’ve finally made a video to show the box assembly and will try to make one for each of this year’s projects, I hope you enjoy them 🙂

I’m a big Halloween fan and love making all sorts of treat holders, but if you don’t celebrate Halloween these ideas can easily  be adapted for any holiday with a simple change of colour and sentiments. I’ll be sharing some alternate ideas as we go and hope you’ll enjoy them too 🙂
