Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Sailing Home

Hi everyone 🙂 I’m moving this week’s Bunny Hop post to Friday as I’m playing along with another challenge and have a really simple, masculine card to share with you today, using the Sailing Home Bundle from the 2019-20 Annual Catalogue.

I’m playing along with this week’s CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge (CTS#363) for the layout of my card, make sure you hop over and check out the great ideas the design team have come up with, there are some goodun’s 🙂

To create the background for my project, I trimmed a piece of Come Sail Away DSP to 2″ x 14.8cm, to use for the contrasting element and added a die cut piece of Whisper White cardstock (Stitched Basic Edges – MFT) with a simple stitched curve.

The sentiment is from Sailing Home and I stamped it in Night of Navy and die cut it with one of the Stitched Labels Dies. To help it stand out from the background better, I cut out one of the compasses from the same DSP pack with one of the Layering Circles Dies. It was the perfect size to go behind this element and I love how parts of the pattern peek through the holes of the sentiment die cut 🙂

I decided to use the three small sailing boats as the multiple element in the sketch and stamped them in Momento Black ink, coloured them in with my Stampin’ Blends Markers (colours will be in the Supply List) and popped them up with dimensionals on my card front.

To finish off the inside I added more die cut layers of cardstock and Come Sail Away DSP with just a little stamping in one corner that ties everything together nicely 🙂 While this could definitely be a birthday card, I think it would work for lots of other occasions as well, so I’ve left off a sentiment for the moment.

I really like how today’s project turned out, it’s pretty simple, but there are pops of colour plus the detail of the stamps which add plenty of interest just by themselves.

Cheers,
Karen
