Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | In the Spotlight – Rise & Shine
Happy Monday everyone, today I have a fun card to share with you with a bit of a St. Patty’s Day vibe, using the newly released Rise & Shine stamp set from this year’s Sale-A-Bration.
I’m playing along with this week’s Colour Throwdown CTD584 which is all about greens, with a splash of black & white. The graphic definitely put me in an Irish mood, but as I don’t send St. Patrick’s Day cards a good luck/encouragement one seemed the next best thing 🙂
I decided to make a “lucky” mug by stamping the flower from Rise & Shine in Shaded Spruce onto a piece of Call Me Clover cardstock. To turn the flowers into shamrocks, I used my Dark Shaded Spruce Blends Marker to add a simple stalk and then die cut my piece out with one of the Cup of Cheer dies.
The little tea bag tag was created the same way and the small “good luck” sentiment from Power of Hope fitted perfectly in the middle. I used some Whisper White Baker’s Twine to create the string, added a few rhinestones coloured with the same marker and my lucky mug was ready to pop up on the front of the card 🙂
To make a simple background for my focal element I stamped an image from Label Me Bold – to ground my mug and the steam in Grey Granite. The sentiment is from Rise & Shine as well and I masked off some of it to just stamp the words “you’ve got this” and die cut it out with one of the Sending Flowers Dies.
To add a little more black to my card I adhered a skinny strip of Basic Black cardstock from my scraps behind this and popped this up underneath the mug with dimensionals.
To finish off the inside I added the same layers as the front, a few more shamrocks in one corner and a coordinating sentiment from the Rise & Shine stamp set.
I’m really enjoying this new Rise & Shine stamp set, it’s just a fun set to have and super versatile as well, baby mugs, wedding mugs, birthday mugs, etc… If you have the chance make sure you pick up this one while it’s still available, I’m really kicking myself that I didn’t get the Christmas set now, might have to find a second-hand one 😦
Cheers,
Karen
