Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Clean & Simple with lots of white
Happy Friday everyone! Are you looking forward to the weekend? I know I sure am! To finish off the week I have a couple of quick & easy, clean and simple (CAS) cards to share with you using the fun Witty-Cisms stamp set from the 2020 Mini Catalogue.
I’m playing along with the current AAA Cards CAS Challenge #160 which is maximum white space with an optional twist of metallic. I always admire clean, white cards with just a small beautifully coloured image and pithy sentiment, but you’ll soon see that I’m not the best at sticking to that plan 😉 #theCASstruggleisreal!
While I have stuck to a white background, the starkness was a bit daunting so I decided to spice it up by adding an embossed panel to my card fronts. I used a couple of retired embossing folders for this and as embossing slightly changes the size of the cardstock, found the best result was to emboss a larger panel first and then cut it down to the correct size.
I stamped & coloured two of the images from Witty-Cisms with my Stampin’ Blends Markers and die cut them out with a circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies. They needed a little something though, so I broke out my Clear Wink of Stella and now they sparkle – not sure if I’d eat a sparkly taco though 😉
I think this is where I should have stopped, but I just needed a little more colour, so I added a couple of banners die cut with the Bonanza Dies from Peaceful Poppies DSP and then a few silver & gold stars (retired) for some extra shine.
To finish off the insides I added a die cut panel of Whisper White with the main image stamped & coloured in one corner. I’ve left the rest of the card blank so I have plenty of room to write a personalised message, but if I’m feeling lazy I can always stamp an extra sentiment as well 😉
Well, I’m not sure if I met the brief for this challenge, but I love all the texture & sparkle and there is still lots of white 🙂 I will say that the Witty-Cisms stamp set is perfect for clean & simple (CAS) cards though, you could stamp, colour and die cut a stack of those little image/sentiment combos and then have them on hand to simply pop onto a card front for pretty much every occasion – quick & easy, clean & simple 🙂
Cheers,
Karen

Yes, silly me should have checked the guidelines before I made my cards, not after I’d posted 😊 at least I’ll know for next time 😁
