Masculine Monday – Country Club Suite

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Masculine Monday – Country Club Suite

When I was going through this year’s Mini Catalogue for the first time the Country Club Suite (on p47) immediately caught my eye and I knew I had to add it to my stash A.S.A.P. My youngest son has recently started playing and is into all things golf and now I finally have this fun suite of products I can join him in his enjoyment of golf – from the comfort of my crafting table 😉

The design for todays’ cards was inspired by this pin, I loved the colours, grungy background and especially all layering. I usually keep my masculine cards reasonably clean & simple, but not today – I’ve added it all! 🙂

I started off with Crumb Cake card bases and used a sponge to ink up all the edges inside and out with Momento Black ink. Then I added a little texture with stamps from Geared Up Garage and Gorgeous Grunge (retired) in Night of Navy to add a little interest to my background.

I adhered two strips of Country Club DSP towards the left and inked their edges up as well and then stamped a sentiment onto more Crumb Cake cardstock and cut it out with a banner die from the Golf Club Dies.

The tag was made from a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock (I’ll add all the dimensions below) and I used the Detailed Trio Punch to round the corners and add a ribbon hole.  I stamped some more background detail with some stamps from Timeless Textures (retired) and inked up the edges to help it tie in with the card base.

The golf ball and tee are from Clubhouse and the other elements were fussy cut from the Country Club DSP  – except the golf balls which punch out perfectly with the 1/2″ Circle Punch 🙂 The final touch was a little Country Club Twine and some wooden elements and then I popped this up on the card base with dimensionals.

I added a Whisper White layer to the inside and used my Stamparatus to add a sentiment and another image – stamped off once. I’d just finished stamping and was about to adhere these layers inside my cards when I dropped my sponge onto one of them 😦 so out came the texture stamps again to cover that up and now you’d never know 😉

Card Cuts:
  • C6 Card Base: 10.5 x 14.8cm (when folded)
  • DSP Strips: 1-1/4″ x 6″
  • Tag: 2-1/4″ 3-3/4″
  • Inside Panel: 9.5 x 13.8cm

I really had a lot of fun creating today’s cards, I find adding lots of layers & patterns difficult to do well and am so grateful for Stampin’ Up!’s product coordination that took out much of the guesswork. These are definitely the most over-the-top masculine cards I’ve made, but I like them, they’re just so different from my usual style 🙂

Cheers,
Karen
