Masculine Monday – Geared Up Garage

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson |Masculine Monday – Geared Up Garage

Hi everyone, I’m back with super simple Masculine Monday project to share and today I’m using the Geared Up Garage stamp set from the 2019-20 Annual Catalogue.

Little Paper Party, Geared Up Garage, Stitched Shapes Dies, 1

I’ve chosen some warm colours of Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow & Sahara Sand for today’s card and started by creating a simple background by stamping two of the images from Geared Up Garage onto a piece of Woven Threads DSP using Sahara Sand ink and first & second generation stamping.

I trimmed this down and layered it up with Mossy Meadow and Cajun Craze cardstock for a little contrast, added a sentiment and then adhered this to a Crumb Cake card base.

The car, jerry can and tool box were stamped in Cajun Craze onto Very Vanilla cardstock and I added more of the background images  – stamped off once, to grunge them up a little and add some more interest 🙂

I die cut these images out with the Stitched Shapes Dies and added a die cut scalloped square in Mossy Meadow behind and popped them up with dimensionals on the card front.

TIP: To create a similar look without dies use your trimmer or punches to cut these elements down.

To finish of the inside I added similar layers to the front and used the scraps from my stamped DSP piece to add a little decoration and tie everything together.

Card Cuts:

Card Front:
DSP: 7 x 14.8cm
Layer 1: 7.2 x 14.8cm
Layer 2: 7.5 x 14.8cm

Inside:
DSP: 1/2″ x 13.8cm
Layer 1: 9.5 x 13.8cm
Layer 2: 9.7 x 14.0cm
Layer 3: 10 x 14.3cm

I really like how this simple card turned out and think it’s a pretty safe one to give to any guy – or girl who’s into cars. Even though I chose warm tones for this one I think it would look just as good in other colours as well, you could choose some favourites and really personalise it for the recipient too, which I think adds a thoughtful touch 🙂

Cheers,
Karen
