Mixing It Up!

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Mixing It Up!

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I just like to pull out a few products and have a play to see what I come up with and today I have an interesting sort of card to share with you after my little experiment 😉

Little Paper Party, Lots of Happy, Itty Bitty Birthdays, Heartfelt, 1

I started off my creative experiment knowing I wanted a masculine card – I can never have enough of those and really wanted to use the arrow from the Heartfelt stamp set as well, it’s such a great image.

I decided to use my Stamparatus to create a repeat pattern and after I’d gotten my arrow and a sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays in place, used the grid paper to move my cardstock around to change up their positions. I die cut this piece (with a die from my stash) and layered it onto a piece of Country Club DSP and then to a Thick Whisper White card base.

The main sentiment is from the Lots of Happy Kit in the 2019-20 Annual Catalogue and I stamped it in Night of Navy and the arrow in Basic Grey using my Stamparatus again. I die cut this and a layering piece using the Rectangle Stitched Dies and popped them up on my card front with Black Dimensionals.

I wanted to add some sort of embellishment to dress up my simple card and ended up choosing the Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine tied off with a reef knot – it adds a lovely bit of texture 🙂

As you know, I like to finish off the inside of my cards as well and added two layers of cardstock with the arrow stamped twice for a simple decoration. I really like how the arrows look on the inside and still have lots of room left for a personal message 🙂

I’m not quite sure how I feel about my project today, I like all the elements separately, but am not quite sure if they work together all that well 😦 however, into my card stash it will go, I’m sure the recipient will like the thought  – even though the execution might not be the best 😉

Cheers,
Karen
