Valentine’s Day – Pleased As Punch

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Valentine’s Day – Pleased As Punch

Can you believe we’ve passed the halfway mark in January already, where is the time going? This means Valentine’s Day is just around the corner now and today I have a quick & easy Valentine’s card to share with you using the Pleased As Punch DSP.

The Pleased As Punch DSP is part of Stampin’ Up!’s Coordination Product Release and will be available from February 4 to March 31 (while supplies last). As the name implies, it coordinates with several punches from the 2020 Mini Catalogue & 2020 Sale-A-Bration flyer, so is perfect for quick & easy projects 🙂 Click here for all the details.

Little Paper Party, Heartfelt, Pleased As Punch DSP, Valentine's Day, 1

I really like the colours in this paper pack and thought they’d make a fun twist for a Valentine’s Day card. I decided to go for a strong colour contrast and layered my punched hearts onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock embossed with the Bricks & Mortar embossing folder and then added this to a Basic Black card base.

All the hearts were adhered flat, except for the Calypso Coral one & I stamped a sentiment from Heartfelt in Momento Black before popping it up with dimensionals.

I wanted to keep the rest of the decoration simple to keep this card suitable for a guy or girl and added a few small hearts die cut with the Trio of Tags Dies (carrying over from the Holiday Catalogue) and a little sparkle with some rhinestones coloured with coordinating Stampin’ Blends Markers.

To finish off the inside I added a layer of Whisper White, die cut with a rectangle from my stash and adhered a strip of the same paper down one side for a little decoration. I haven’t added a sentiment to give me some versatility for how I’d like to use this card, even though I made this one for Valentine’s Day, I think it could work for lots of other occasions as well 🙂

Although you might not be able to purchase the Pleased As Punch DSP in time for Valentine’s Day -it will be a bit tight, you could easily replicate this idea using other paper/stamps in your stash. Just pick some colours you (or your recipient) like, cut them out & layer away!

Cheers,
Karen
