Happy Boo-day To You

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Happy Boo-day To You

Happy Halloween everyone! well for tomorrow anyway 🙂 I don’t have a Halloween themed project for you today, but thought I’d use one of this year’s Halloween sets, Boo To You, to create a non-Halloween project – if that makes sense 😉

The little characters in this set are so sweet and I’d like to use them for more than just spooky projects, so today I have a birthday card for you made using the cheeky little monster from Boo To You and mixed and matched him with some retired goodies and extra resources from my stash to get the look I wanted.

Little Paper Party, Boo To You, Stitched Shapes Dies, 2
I stamped my image onto Whisper White cardstock using Momento Black ink and coloured him in using my Stampin’ Blends Markers (colours will be in the Supply List). I added a balloon from Party Like a Panda (SSS) and a party hat from Hats Off To You (Lawn Fawn) to give him more of a birthday feel and then fussy cut him out using my Paper Snips.

I chose a bright & cheerful DSP from my stash for my background and die cut it out using a stitched rectangle die to cover my entire card front. I used my Stamparatus to repeat stamp a sentiment from Party Like A Panda (SSS) several times in Momento Black ink and love the look of this fun, bold font against my bright background.

To help ground my monster I die cut a frame from Bermuda Bay cardstock and the Stitched Shapes Dies. I adhered four frames together to add some dimension to my simple card and added my monster to the top one. I used a generous amount of dimensionals to keep him at the same level as the frame and then adhered it to the front of my card.

To finish off the inside I added die cut panel with another sentiment from Party Like A Panda (SSS), the little gift is from the same set and I coloured it with my Stampin’ Blends Markers before fussy cutting it out and adhering it to one corner for a pop of colour 🙂

I really love the cheeky characters in the Boo To You stamp set and would be a little alarmed to see this one turn up to a party 😉 but it was great fun to take him out of the “Halloween” box and let him enjoy some other celebrations 🙂

Cheers,
Karen
