Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Beautiful Friendship

Today I have a simple card to share with you to show off the *new* 2019-21 In Colors. This year’s In Colors are lovely muted shades and although they weren’t designed to work together, I think came together quite nicely in today’s project.

I’m using a *new* stamp set, Beautiful Friendship for the stamping and am C.A.S.E.-ing a design from this quarters’ Stampin’ Success (a Demonstrator publication).

I’m not usually a big fan of floral stamp sets, but there was something about Beautiful Friendship that I found too attractive to resist 🙂 The stamps are textured which adds instant dimension to your projects with just one layer and the images are large so very little stamping is needed to fill up a card front.  Make sure you check out the samples on page 123 of the 2019-20 Annual Catalogue, they’re what really sold me on this gorgeous set 😉

For today’s card I used the 2019-21 In Colors and stamped the large central flower in Rococo Rose and added the stamens in Terracotta Tile. The hydrangea heads are in Seaside Spray and the leaves in Pretty Peacock.

You could cut masks for the areas that are going to overlap, but I’m a lazy stamper & just used a scrap of paper 🙂

The final spray of flowers on the right is in Purple Posy. I’m sure you’re all aware that this is currently unavailable at the moment due to some quality issues, but it is in the 2019-21 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers pack -yay 🙂 and that’s what I used to add a touch of this lovely colour to my card.

I tied a little Linen Thread around my card front and popped up a sentiment over the top and then adhered it to a Purple Posy card base. I really wanted some more of this colour on my card and this was the easiest way to do it 🙂

I added the same Whisper White layer inside and stamped the final flower in this set, with some more sprigs & leaves in one corner for a little decoration.

I was pleasantly surprised with how well this year’s In Colors worked together, I think it helped that flowers can come in pretty much every colour and always seem to look lovely together 😉 I haven’t got a immediate favourite yet from this year’s new colours, they all appeal to me in different ways. However, I am looking forward to arrival of the Purple Posy ink pad though so I can do more with that lovely colour 🙂
