Farewell Coffee Café

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Farewell Coffee Café

Today I’m saying goodbye to one of my most favourite stamp sets in the 2018-19 Annual Catalogue, Coffee Café. As an avid coffee drinker, I was so happy when this stamp set & the coordinating Coffee Cup dies first appeared and plan to keep them in my stash for a long time yet 🙂

I’m pairing today’s stamp set with Timeless Textures (retiring), this is a great set with lots of designs to create interesting backgrounds. I’ve regularly paired the “coffee ring stain” with Coffee Café, they just seem made to go together.

Little Paper Party, Coffee Cafe, Timeless Textures 1

To create my simple background I stamped the coffee stain image in Soft Suede ink, stamping up to three times without reinking to get different shades of the one colour. I then added the small heart outline and fill in image from Coffee Café in Pool Party to add a little colour.

I trimmed this panel down to 9.5 x 13.9cm, rounded the corners using the Detailed Trio Punch and adhered it to a standard Pool Party card base.

The cup outline and lid were stamped in Early Espresso and I added the coffee bean images in the same ink afterwards. To keep the stamping inside the lines I used a scrap of paper & just moved it around the edges as I went.

I die cut the lid, cup & sleeve using the coordinating Coffee Cup dies, adhered them together and added a heart from the Corrugated Elements (retiring). I then popped this element up on my card front with dimensionals.

The top half of the sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners (retiring) and I added the word “coffee” from one of the Coffee Café sentiments underneath. I used an Early Espresso marker to ink up just the word, but you could mask of around it and use the ink pad instead.

I trimmed down the sentiment and used the Tailored Tag Punch to flag the end, wrapped a little Linen Thread around the top and adhered it to the top of my card with dimensionals.

For a little sparkle I used the Dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends Marker to colour a few rhinestones and added three to my project to finish it off 🙂

On the inside I added the same sized panel with a little stamping in just one corner to tie  both the front and inside together.

I’m really going to miss this stamp set from our catalogues, but you’ve got to make way for new things and it won’t be too long now before we’ll have lots of *new* products to play with 🙂

Cheers,
Karen
