Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Little Twinkle
Today I have a pair of sweet cards to share with you made using the Little Twinkle stamp set and Twinkle Builder Punch. Both of these items will be carrying over to the *new* 2019-20 Annual Catalogue – yay 🙂 but their cost saving bundle won’t be, so if you’d like to save 10% off the combined price, make sure to pick it up before June 4, 2019.
The design for these cards is C.A.S.E.d from the 2018-19 Annual Catalogue (p82). I love the look of all the samples on this page, but decided to try the square card in the top right corner with heat embossing and changed it up just a little to fit a standard C6 card base.
I used the same piece of Twinkle Twinkle DSP (retiring) as the sample and as it’s also in a Petal Pink colourway decided to make two cards – so now I’m ready for a boy or girl!
For the banners I used a set of dies from my stash to cut out the basic shape and then trimmed them down afterwards, so I can’t really give you any sizes for them, except that the largest banner ended up being 10cm long.
However, you could easily create a banner using just your trimmer and a pair of scissors, I’d play around with the size using copy paper first and when you’re happy make a cardstock one 🙂
The DSP one underneath is a little narrower and doesn’t need to be the full length, you only need enough to glue it to the wider one.
To create the layered sentiment I heat embossed it first on the banner piece and then again on a scrap piece of cardstock. I used the Twinkle Builder Punch to punch out the moon and was able to use the stars from the same piece on the banner as well.
I adhered these elements flat, making sure to line up the words on the moon with the ones on the banner. You could pop these elements up for more contrast, but as I was planning on popping up the entire banner I just kept them flat.
My banners are longer than the ones in the sample so I decided to tie the coordinating baker’s twine (retiring) around the top instead of having it underneath. I added a glue dot under the bow to keep it in place and then stacks of dimensionals on the back to pop the banner up on the front of my card.
I added a Whisper White panel to the inside and stamped the heart image from Little Twinkle in VersaMark ink and then either Pool Party or Petal Pink. I added Clear Embossing Powder over the top and set it with my Heat Tool for a glossy finish.
This is a great wat to add heat embossing in any colour you like, just remember to ink up your image in VersaMark first, then your coloured ink otherwise you’ll stain your VersaMark pad. Not only does it look yucky it can affect your embossing results in the future – especially with white & clear powder 😦
These were a fun pair of cards to make and would be suitable for several different occasions, baby showers, new baby, 1st birthday etc… I’m so glad I chose this sample to C.A.S.E., it looks great on a regular size card and think it could work on a smaller one as well.
