Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Bunny Hop 2019 – Bitty Box
Welcome to the third project in this year’s Bunny Hop. Today I have a sweet little box to share with you that I’ve made several times before and even though it’s small, it can hold a surprising amount of yummies 🙂
I’m using the Best Bunny stamp set and pairing it with the Foxy Friends (from the 2018-19 Annual Catalogue) set this time, I thought the sweet woodland images in this set would go perfectly with my bunny to create a fun scene for the top of my box.
This cute box only measures 2″ W x 1-1/2″H x 2″ D and requires a 6″ x 7-1/2″ piece of cardstock. This means you can only make one box per sheet of A4 cardstock, but you could get two if you use 12″ x 12″ instead.
After I’d created my box bases I added 1-3/8″ x 1-7/8″ Gingham Gala DSP pieces to the sides and all the flat decoration to the lid before assembling them – it’s much easier to do this while your box is flat.
I only used the small bunny image from the Best Bunny stamp set and stamped and coloured him the same as last time and then fussy cut him out with my paper snips – all the other images are from the Foxy Friends stamp set.
I stamped the stump in Early Espresso ink and filled in the top and lines in the bark with a Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Marker. The three different mushrooms were stamped in the same colours as the Gingham Gala DSP and then I cut all of these images out using my Paper Snips. I adhered the stump and mushrooms flat to the top of each box using Tombow and added a bunny on top of each one popped up with dimensionals.
The speech bubble is from the Foxy Friends stamp set as well and I carefully inked up just the outline in Early Espresso ink. The sentiment is from Circle of Spring (a retired set), but you could add any that you like instead, this speech bubble is quite large and there are lots of sentiments that would fit.
I fussy cut these out as well and popped them up with dimensionals and that finished off the little scene on the top of my boxes, I was so pleased how everything came together 🙂
The final touch was a length of Polka Dot Ribbon tied around the base and finished with a bow in the front, I added a couple of Glue Dots under the bow top keep it firmly in place. The ribbon is really optional, the boxes look super sweet without it, but I liked the extra texture it gave to this project 🙂
Here’s the How To:
Cardstock: 6″ x 7-1/2″”
DSP: 1-3/8″ x 1-7/8″ (x4)
- Score @ 1/2″, 2-1/2″, 4″ & 6″ (on the 7-1/2″ side)
- Turn 90º – with the 1/2″ score line at the top
- Score @ 1/2″, 2″, 4″ & 5-1/2″ (on the 6″ side)
- Partial score @ 1-1/2″ & 4-1/2″ (to the 3rd horizontal score line only)
- Turn 180°
- Partial score @ 1-1/2″ & 4-1/2″ (to the 1st horizontal score line only)
- Trim as shown in the above diagram
- Fold & burnish score lines
- Adhere DSP to sides and any flat decoration to the lid
- Round the lid and side corners, notch out front of box for easy opening (if desired)
- Apply Tear n’ Tape to the four tabs and assemble
These are such sweet boxes and would make perfect favours for your Easter table. For just a few ideas of what will fit in them, they can easily hold a Cadbury Crème Egg + four mini eggs, 12 mini eggs or a good mix of different sized treats.
Well, we’re half way through this year’s Bunny Hop now and I hope you’ve been enjoying the projects so far. Usually I try to use just one stamp set exclusively, but have really been enjoying mixing and matching my stamp sets this time 🙂
