Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Valentine’s Treat Tags
Even though Valentine’s Day is over – I hope you all had a nice one 🙂 I’d thought I’d still share the little treats that I gave to my boys this year. The treat I found was already wrapped nicely so I just added a simple tag made using the Meant To Be Bundle.
Usually I make a little bag or box for their treat, but these word biscuits were too sweet – no pun intended 😉 to cover up, so I just kept it simple, why undo all the manufacturers hard work?
I chose Real Red cardstock and the largest of the Be Mine Stitched Framelits primitive style hearts to create my tag with. I cut my cardstock to 9 x 14cm, scored and folded it in half and put my framelit on with just a little of the cutting blade hanging off on edge and ran it through my Big Shot.
NOTE: Most framelits are designed to cut through one layer of cardstock only and while this does work, if you wanted to make a lot of these I’d make them a single layer tag to prevent your framelit being damaged.
I stamped a sentiment from Meant To Be in VersaFine Onyx Black ink (non SU, you could use Momento instead) and used my 1/8″ Circle Handheld Punch to punch out tiny Gold Glimmer confetti to add a little sparkle.
NOTE: The 1/8″ Circle Handheld Punch is being discontinued and is only available while stocks last. If you use this hole size a lot, make sure you grab one before they’re gone.
I uses a tool similar to the Take Your Pick tool to place these pieces onto tiny spots of Tombow, punched another hole in the top and used the ribbon and gold elastic already on my treat to tie them on.
Even though these tags are super simple I was so pleased with how they turned out 🙂 The stitching detail from the framelit and little pops of glitter really make them look a little fancier than they are 🙂
I found the little packets of XOXO and LOVE biscuits at Big W (a store in Australia) and even though Valentine’s Day is over I think they’d make a great favour for an engagement, anniversary or wedding as well. They have a reasonably long expiration date and are probably on special now, so if you were looking, these might be perfect and now you have an idea of how to dress them up a little as well 😉
Cheers,
Karen
