Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Meant To Be
Hi everyone! I know I’ve been absent for a while – just life and a little loss of creative mojo, but it’s coming back 🙂 I finished a few simple Valentine’s cards last month, mostly using the new Meant To Be Bundle in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue and thought I’d better get off my behind and share them before it’s over 😉
I was really pleased to see the Be Mine Stitched Framelits in the catalogue as I don’t have many heart dies and they are a great addition to my stash. I did pick up the coordinating Meant To Be stamp set as well as it can be used well beyond Valentine’s Day.
I really like the inlay technique on cards and thought this heart cluster would be perfect for it. I decided to go with a rainbow theme and before I die cut my hearts I adhered a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to the back of each cardstock colour (4-1/8″ x 1-5/8″) to turn my hearts and their fine outline into stickers – so much easier to adhere to my cards and well worth the extra step.
TIP: After I ran my cardstock strips through the Big Shot I carefully turned the plates over with the die still in place and adhered a strip of painters tape (with some of the extra sticky removed) along the back of my die cut piece and then removed the die. This kept all my pieces together and made it much quicker to pop out the right piece when I was assembling my card.
I’m planning to give this card to my husband so wanted to keep the rest of my card very plain and this block style sentiment from my stash (My Favorite Things – Essential Sentiments) was simply heat embossed in white and popped up with dimensionals to finish off my card front.
You could add a similar sentiment using the Labeler Alphabet or Make A Difference stamp sets if you like this style and don’t have the exact sentiment in your stash.
Inside has a Whisper White layer and a sentiment from the Meant To Be stamp set in the centre. I added a few extra hearts for a little touch of colour and that finished off my simple card 🙂
Although it did take some time to add the adhesive sheet and painters tape to my die cut strips it was well worth the effort as I now have a pretty pile of colourful hearts ready for another project 🙂
I’m planning on making some changes to my blog this year, while I will mainly be sharing projects made exclusively with Stampin’ Up! products I do have other stamps and dies that I love and use so you’ll be seeing more mix and match projects – like todays.
Cheers,
Karen
