Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | 12 Weeks of Halloween 2018 – Week 7
Today I have a quick and easy project to share with you using the Spooky Sweets Bundle and an old favourite – that might already be in your stash – the Wood Crate Framelits.
The Wood Crate Framelits are one of my faves because they are a cinch to put together and can be decorated for pretty much any occasion. They’re also the perfect size for our Gusseted Cellophane Bags which makes it easy to create all kinds of treats 🙂
To keep with my Halloween theme I decided to cut my crate pieces from Basic Black and Grey Granite cardstock, I stamped the mist image from Spooky Sweets in Whisper White Craft ink (on the black) and Grey Granite to give them a grungy feel.
I assembled the boxes as usual and added two bats from the Spooky Sweets Bundle for a simple decoration.
After I’d filled a couple of Gusseted Cellophane Bags with goodies I tied them closed with Basic Black Baker’s Twine and popped them in the crates. I used a variety of sweets in each bag and one of the great things about these bags is that they are big enough to hold larger treats – more to choose from 🙂
I decided to add a tag on a skewer for some extra height, but you could easily tie one onto the bag itself which would just as good.
The skewers I used are from Coles and are meant for appetisers so are flat on one end, this makes it super easy to attach labels to them and I just use a little Tear n’ Tape to adhere them.
The design of my tags is CASE’d from the one on page 51 of the 2018 Holiday Catalogue. I used the retired Deco Labels for the tag bases and kept the embellishment the same just changed up the colours a little.
I added a few of the Twinkle Adhesive Backed Sequins for a little sparkle and attached my decorated label to one side of my skewer. I wanted them to look good from all sides so added another label to the back as well, this would be the perfect place to add a to/from if you wanted to, but mine just have the mist image stamped on them.
I really like how my not-so-spooky crates turned out, they hold quite a few yummies and make a generous treat. If you didn’t want to add lollies, they’d easily hold small toys or decorations and a Halloween pencil with the tag on top would make a fun extra gift.
Cheers,
Karen
