Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson |12 Weeks of Halloween 2018 | Week 1
I wasn’t sure if I was going to have a 12 Weeks of Halloween series this year, but after seeing all the fun stamp sets coming in the *new* Holiday Catalogue (available September 4), the wheels started turning and I couldn’t resist 🙂
Having said that though, today’s project was made using Seasonal Chums, a set from last year’s Holiday Catalogue that carried over to the 2018-19 Annual Catalogue. This is such a sweet set with its matching framelits, I didn’t want to overlook it with all the new goodies coming.

This week’s project is a mini milk carton that only measures 3″ x 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″, but is the perfect size for handful of small treats. I made these while waiting for my pre-order to arrive so had to use the paper that I had on hand and thought this tiny leaf pattern from the Share What You Love DSP was perfect for my grinning jack ‘o lantern.
This paper pack has loads of designs I think would work beautifully for Halloween projects, so if you didn’t want a Halloween specific DSP take a look through your stash, you’ll probably find lots of patterns that are perfect.
I decided to colour my pumpkin using Stampin’ Blends Markers so used my Stamparatus to stamp the image twice in Momento Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock for a bold outline. I used the Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive combos to colour the pumpkin and leaves, die cut it out using the coordinating Seasonal Tags Framelits and popped it up with dimensionals.
I kept the rest of the embellishment very simple as this is such a small project with a stamped sentiment from the same set in Cajun Craze trimmed to a small banner and a couple of leaves die cut from Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie cardstock scraps.
A little Copper Trim bow keeps my milk carton closed, adds just enough shimmer and shine to keep me happy and makes it easy to open and close my little container 🙂

Here’s the How To:
Finished Dimensions: 3″ x 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″
DSP: 6-1/2″ x 4-1/2″
- Score @ 1-1/2″, 3, 4-1/2″ & 6″ (on the 6-1/2″ side)
- Turn 90º
- Score @ 1-1/2″, 3″ & 4″ (on the 4-1/2″ side)
- Cut 1-1/2″, 3″, 4-1/2″ & 6″ score lines to the first horizontal score line to form base
- Remove the small rectangle from side tab
- Add adhesive to the side tab and base sections
- Assemble as usual
This was such a fun project to make and I loved that I could use product I already had in my stash to create a quick and easy treat holder. I know a lot of people in Australia – where I live – don’t celebrate Halloween at all, but that’s what I love about the Seasonal Chums set, it covers more than one occasion and you always have that classic image – just in case 😉
Cheers,
Karen
