Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Share What You Love Gift Bag
Today I have a quick and easy, self-closing bag to share with you made using the Share What You Love DSP. Not only do I love the patterns in this paper pack, I really like the weight as well. It’s thick and sturdy, like a lighter weight cardstock, which makes it perfect for most 3D projects 🙂
You might have noticed that this paper has a higher price point than other packs , but that is because you get 24 sheets instead of the usual 12 and four sheets of each design, ideal for when you have multiples to make 🙂
I’ve made these little boxes several times before and used one of my favourite floral patterns for this one. It uses a 6″ x 8-1/2″ piece of DSP, which means you can get two from one 12″ x 12″ sheet and measures 4″H (to closure) x 4″W x 2-3/4″D, large enough to hold all sorts of lovelies.
I kept the decoration quite simple on this project, it didn’t really need too much with all those gorgeous flowers, so a sentiment from Love What You Do stamped onto one of the pre-cut labels in the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit and a little of the Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon for some texture were all that I added.
Here’s the How To:
Finished Dimensions: 4″ x 4″ x 2-3/4″
DSP: 8-1/2″ x 6″
- Score @ 1″ & 5″ (on the 6″ side)
- Turn 90º
- Score @ 4″ & 8″ (on the 8-1/2″ side)
- With the cardstock in the same position, score @ 2″ & 6″ to the first horizontal score line ONLY
- Cut 2″, 4″, 6″, 8″ score lines to the first horizontal score line only
- Turn 180º
- Cut 4″ score line to the first horizontal score line only
- Make diagonal score lines (as per template) & fold and burnish all score lines
- Remove the small rectangles from side tab
- Round the lid corners (optional)
- Assemble as usual
I love how well this project shows off this gorgeous paper and that it requires very little embellishment to finish it off. These would be perfect to make in bulk, you could make 48 from a whole pack of Share What You Love DSP, which is a little under $1.00 per box, not bad for something out of the ordinary 🙂
Cheers,
Karen
