Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | 5 Minute Mondays

Hi everyone, it’s good to be back again 🙂 I hope you’re all enjoying the *new* 2018-19 Annual Catalogue that’s been live for over a week now! I know I jumped on first thing to place my order and did very well keeping to my budget – for a change 😉

Today I’m starting a new series of quick and easy, clean & simple cards that I’m calling 5 Minute Mondays. Each card should take about 5 minutes to make (definitely no more than 10) from start to finish and what better to start with than the new 2018-20 In Colors.

This year’s In Colors are Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover & Blueberry Bushel. They make a gorgeous rainbow and I thought they were perfect for a bunch of bright balloons.

I stamped a balloon image from Happy Birthday Gorgeous in each colour onto scraps of Whisper White cardstock and punched them out with the coordinating Balloon Bouquet Punch. I sponged around the edges with sponge daubers to define them a little, but this step is optional.

I arranged the balloons how I wanted on my card front and used a pencil to freehand draw the strings. When I was happy with how they looked, I went over them with the thicker Journaling Pen and rubbed out the pencil lines. Then I adhered the balloons to the card front and popped two up to add a little dimension.

The sentiment is from the Celebrate You Thinlits and I die cut it five times, four from Whisper White cardstock and once from Basic Black. I adhered them together and then to the card front over the strings.

That’s it for this card, all done!

This really is a quick & easy card to make, perfect for my first 5 Minute Monday. You could easily dress it up if you have more time with extra layers and stamping or make it even faster with a big stamped sentiment instead of a die cut one!
