Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Love & Hugs

To all the mums out there, I hope yesterday was a lovely relaxing day for you all 🙂 I’m writing this ahead of time so don’t know exactly what will be happening here, but I’m sure I enjoyed it, if there’s no cooking or cleaning I’ll be in mummy heaven 😉

Today I have the card that I made for my own mum to share with you, made using the retiring Sure Do Love You Bundle, Painted With Love DSP and carrying over, phew, Ribbon of Courage.

Those who know me well know that I am not a pink person, so this over-the-top pink and gold confection was way out of my comfort zone, but I kind of like the end result, maybe I’m a convert in the making?

To create the striped element I cut a piece of Gold Foil (4 x 13.8cm) and adhered five pieces of Painted With Love DSP evenly spaced on top. To make them a little more interesting I used two contrasting patterns and varied the widths from 3/4″ x 5cm to 1″ x 5cm.

I popped this element up with dimensionals on a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock embossed with the Scattered Sequins Dynamic TIEF and layered that onto a Thick Whisper White card base.

A sentiment from Ribbon of Courage was stamped in Rich Razzleberry onto a Powder Pink heart from Sure Do love You (retiring – available while supplies last) and die cut with the coordinating Lots to Love Framelits.

I also die cut some of the leaves using this same framelit set in Gold Foil and Vellum and layered them behind the heart with some Mini Gold Sequin Trim for some extra texture & shine.

To finish off my card front I added a few sequins from the Metallic Sequins Assortment, I thought I might as well go all out with the sparkle factor on this one 😉

Another strip of Painted with Love DSP was adhered to more foil to decorate the inside panel and I stamped “Happy Mother’s Day” using the Thoughtful Banners stamp set. A couple of leaves and a smaller heart finished it off nicely with plenty of room left to write a special message 🙂

Card Front Layers & Dimensions:

  • 10.5 x 14.8cm Thick Whisper White card base
  • 10 x 14.3 Melon Mambo layer (embossed)
  • 4 x 13.8cm Gold Foil
  • 3/4″ x 5cm Painted With Love DSP (x2)
  • 1″ x 5cm Painted With Love DSP (x3)

Make sure you add the Sure Do Love You Bundle to your shopping basket soon if it’s been on your must-have list, as it’s only available while stocks last now and is a such a versatile set to have. I’ll be hanging on to mine for  while yet as I love the different boxes you can make with the framelit set.

You’ll also find the Ribbon of Courage Bundle on the retiring list as well, but not to worry, the stamp set and coordinating framelits are carrying over, just not the cost saving bundle, so if you’d like to save 10% on the combined price, make sure to pick them up before June.

Cheers,
Karen
