Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Made for Mum – Gift Card Holder
Hi everyone, I’m back 🙂 Sorry I disappeared for a while there, one of my boys got a nasty infection which led to a short hospital stay and life just got a little crazy for a while! He’s fully recovered now, though and I’m ready to get back into the swing of things 🙂
I thought I’d finish of my Made for Mum series with a simple gift card holder made using the Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes (these are carrying over into the 2018-19 Annual Catalogue, yay!) and the retiring Painted With Love DSP and Lots to Love Framelits.
To decorate the front of my note card I added a 1-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ strip of Painted With Love DSP (retiring – available while stocks last) towards the left edge and added a bow of sheer Calypso Coral ribbon.
The sentiment is from Tabs for Everything and I stamped the shopping cart and word “shopping” in the coordinating colours from this paper pack. I die cut it with a square from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and layered that onto a Gold Foil scalloped square die cut with the Layering Squares Framelits.
I popped up my sentiment piece with dimensionals for some interest and added a few Metallic Enamel Shapes (retiring – available while stocks last) for some extra shine.
I used the Lots to Love Framelits (retiring) to cut the notches to hold a gift card from a 2-3/8″ x 4-3/8″ piece of Painted With Love DSP and adhered this inside my note card.
TIP: I’ve created a template to make this easy to get the spacing right – see this post here – and keep it with my framelits. This makes it easy to get them perfectly spaced every time.
A circle of the same DSP die cut using the Layering Circles Framelits, dresses up the inside of the envelope to make even more special 🙂
These are such a simple way to dress up a humble gift card and look much nicer than the cardboard backing they come on. I also like how there’s room to write a message on the inside of the card as well, it makes it so much more personal.
The Lots to Love Framelits and coordinating Sure Do Love You stamp set are both on the retirement list and are now available while stocks last. I’ll be holding on to mine for a while yet as the Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes are carrying over and the framelits make the perfect size box to hold them. I love making 3D items, but if there’s a die that’s the perfect fit, I’ll take that any day of the week over making one from scratch 😉
Cheers,
Karen
