You rock!

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | You rock!

Only 4 days left of Sale-A-Bration!

Sale-A-Bration is nearly over for another year 😦 and I want to get as much use out of the amazing products as I can before it all ends. I’m feeling pretty pleased with myself that I managed to use three different Sale-A-Bration items on today’s card, Amazing You & the Celebrate You Thinlits, Eclectic Expressions & Epic Celebrations.

I’m playing along with a challenge at AAA Cards #111 for the layout of my card and am only to use one-third of the card and to keep the design clean and simple (CAS). I really struggle with this type of card so was thrilled to find this challenge and can see myself joining in regularly.

Little Paper Party, Amazing You, Celebrate You Thinlits, Eclectic Expressions, Epic Celebrations, #1

To create the fun rainbow background I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock a little wider than the striped image from Eclectic Expressions and used my Stamparatus to stamp it repeatedly in a rainbow of colours.

I trimmed this piece as close a possible to the stamping afterwards and the width of a standard landscape card base.

I die cut the word “you” from the Celebrate You Thinlits from a slightly narrower strip of Basic Black cardstock to use the negative image on my card front which allowed some of my colourful background to show through.

Little Paper Party, Amazing You, Celebrate You Thinlits, Eclectic Expressions, Epic Celebrations, #3

It seemed a shame to waste all my background stamping so I stamped the guitar from Epic Celebrations in Momento Black ink and roughly cut it out with my craft knife. I fussy cut it afterwards leaving a border around that sketchy outline that I love and popped it up with dimensionals on my card front.

It was looking a little bland behind the guitar so I heat embossed the sunburst image from Amazing You in silver which added the little something it needed, but doesn’t compete with the guitar 🙂

To finish off my card I stamped “rock” using the Labeler Alphabet, fussy cut each letter out and adhered them ransom note style under the “you”.

I had so much fun creating today’s project, playing with colours and mixing and matching products. I was definitely out of my comfort zone with this card, but love the bright, vibrant result.

If you’d like any of the Sale-A-Bration products I used today there are only a few more days left to earn them. Epic Celebrations will be staying in my stash, it’s so great for masculine cards and I’m so glad I chose it, I’ve loved using it! The Celebrate You Thinlits will carry over into the new 2018-19 Annual Catalogue and be available to purchase, but the coordinating Amazing You stamp set won’t, so if you want it make sure to place a qualifying order soon.

Cheers,
Karen
