All things bright & beautiful

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | All things bright & beautiful

It’s been overcast & rainy here for more than two weeks now and I’m in desperate need of blue sky and sunshine. However, while I can’t control the weather, I can make bright & cheerful cards to keep the gloom at bay and have one, using the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set, to share with you today.

I’m playing along with the Paper Players: PP385 challenge this week, which is a clean and simple challenge with a rainbow theme. It was just the pick me up that I needed to  forget about the grey outside and focus on the sunshine inside 🙂

This card is so easy to make and could be made using lots of different images, but I decided to use two of the flowers from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set. I chose this one because it had the same image in two sizes which was perfect for the idea I had in mind.

I stamped the flowers in Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Pacific Point and Rich Razzleberry on a piece of Whisper White cardstock to create rainbow shading and cut it down afterwards to 9 x 13.4cm.

The sentiment is from Sunshine & Rainbows and was heat embossed in white on Basic Black cardstock which contrasts nicely with the bright background. I trimmed it close to the words and popped it up on my card front with dimensionals.

I added the stamped piece to a 9.3 x 13.7cm layer of Basic Black cardstock to create a narrow border and then to a 9.8 x 14.2cm piece of Petal Passion DSP. This was adhered to a standard Basic Black card base and my card was all done, quick and easy 🙂

I kept the inside of my card sweet and simple as well, just a few flowers along one side was all the embellishment it seemed to need.

This was such a fun card to make, nothing complicated, just two stamps and a rainbow of colours, the perfect way to end the week 🙂

Cheers,
Karen

  1. Karen your rainbow of flowers is so uplifting – such a pretty card! Love the white on black sentiment and crisp black cardbase too. Thanks for joining us over at The Paper Players this week!
