It’s so easy when a new catalogue comes along to forget old favourites, so today I’m sharing a project made using the Lemon Zest Bundle and Work of Art stamp set which are both found in the 2017-18 Annual Catalogue.

The design for this card was CASE’d from this awesome card I found on Pinterest. I loved the bright blue background and bold contrasting black stripes and knew the bright yellow lemons from Lemon Zest would look great against this back drop.

I used Tempting Turquoise to create a watercolour wash on Shimmer White cardstock.  I really wanted to add some layers to this and took my time adding extra colour here and there and letting it dry a little in between to get the look I wanted.

I stamped the stripes in Basic Black using an image from Work of Art. I used post-it notes to create the shorter stripes and a fun pattern. I really like the contrast between the vivid blue and black and can see myself using this combo again and again.

After the background was completely dry, I heat embossed a sentiment from Lemon Zest with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder in the bottom right corner.

I stamped the lemons from Lemon Zest in Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry onto Shimmer White cardstock and went over the stamped images with my Aqua Painter to give them a soft water coloured look.

I did the same for the leaves in Old Olive and punched out the whole lemon and the leaves with the coordinating Lemon Builder Punch and the slice with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch.

A few clear shapes from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes added the finishing touch to my card front. I love that they look they look like water drops and tie into my background beautifully 🙂

I added the same cardstock layers as the front to the inside of my card, with a bright little accent in one corner that adds some interest and a pop of colour
