Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Celebrate
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely day 🙂 Today I have a fun card to share with you made using the Birthday Delivery Bundle. This bundle was one of my “must haves” when the new Annual Catalogue came out last year and deserves far more attention than I’ve given it, so today it gets to shine 🙂
The layout for my card was inspired by this week’s CAS(E) this Sketch #258 challenge. All those candles made me think of birthdays straight away and what goes better with birthdays than balloons, right?
Balloons are great for so many different occasions and although I did have birthdays in mind, the front of this card could be used for any celebration. The Birthday Memories Suite is one of those where the framelits die cut images from the coordinating DSP as well stamped ones. I really love this option as it cuts down on stamping and colouring time, perfect for when you need a project in a hurry.
I die cut all the balloons from the Birthday Memories DSP, arranged them how I liked and adhered them to a 9.5 x 13.8cm piece of Whisper White cardstock. Some of them were adhered flat and the rest were popped up with dimensionals to add some texture.
I debated over the strings for a long time before deciding to use Black Metallic Thread for a realistic look. I adhered a strand to each of my balloons before adding them to the card front as I wanted them to gather properly, it didn’t quite work out as I’d imagined, but it’s not too bad. I used one strand of Solid Black Baker’s Twine for the bow which keeps my strings together and added a tiny drop of glue to keep it in place.
The sentiment is from the Celebrate You Thinlits (a FREE Sale-A-Bration choice) and I die cut it four times in Whisper White cardstock and once in Pacific Point. It’s quite thick on the front of my card, but I really like it.
A scattering of the clear shapes from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes adds some subtle texture and because they’re clear don’t detract from the main design.
I layered this onto a Pacific Point layer, cut just 3mm larger all round and then added it to a Thick Whisper White card base.
I added the same cardstock layers to the inside with two die cuts from the same DSP pack and stamped a sentiment from Birthday Delivery onto the banner to finish it off. Sweet and simple 🙂
I hope you liked my quick and easy card today and that you’ll give the Birthday Delivery Bundle a look. It is an expensive bundle, but don’t be put off by that, it’s just because the Birthday Memories DSP is included as part of the bundle and it’s worth it for the savings. If you’d like some more ideas on how to use this fun set hop over to my SU Annual Catalogue 2017/18 Pinterest Board to see lots of samples – they’re just the tip of the iceberg 😉
Cheers,
Karen
