Sure Do Love You Treat Box

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Sure Do Love You Treat Box

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner now and I’m finishing off the little treats that I plan to give my boys. Most people in Australia tend to celebrate Valentine’s Day with just their partner, but I’ve always given my boys a little something as well.

Our expressions of love tend to take the form of chocolate 😉 so I’ve made a little box for each of them with some chocolate hearts inside that I know that they’ll enjoy even if the box itself doesn’t overly impress them 🙂

I was going to stick with red, white and black for these boxes, but some how Emerald Envy found its’ way into my design and I liked it so much I decided to let it stay.

NOTE: Emerald Envy is one of the retiring 2016-18 In Colours. If this is one of your favourites make sure to stock up on ink refills and cardstock soon. Retiring In Colours usually sell out long before the next Annual Catalogue goes live (in June).

These boxes measure 2″ x 2″ x 1-1/2″  and even though they’re small, can hold a nice handful of treats. I used Real Red cardstock to make today’s version and added a 1-1/4″ x 8-1/2″ band of Petal Passion DSP around the middle.

This is a fairly basic box pattern, there are just a few partial score lines to take extra care with, but even if you do go a little too far any mistakes will be covered by the band of DSP.

All the embellishment on the top of each box was made using the Sure Do Love You Bundle. I stamped two of the hearts in Real Red, the banner and leaves in Emerald Envy ink and die cut them all out with the coordinating Lots To Love Box Framelits.

I’ve been loving the addition of Vellum elements to my projects lately, it adds softness and texture, but doesn’t compete with everything else. I covered the large heart with a Vellum one and added two leaves to my clusters.

I wanted some black on the top of my box as well and the addition of a loop of Black Mini Sequin Trim added the pop of black that I ‘d wanted and a little sparkle as well 🙂

Glue Dots and Fast Fuse were my best friends when putting all these little elements together all the messy bits are hidden under the banner which is popped up with dimensionals over the top of it all.

I’m really liking the Sure Do Love You Bundle at the moment, it has so many fun elements that can be mixed and matched and used for much more than just Valentine’s Day projects, plus it has that awesome box that goes with pretty much anything 🙂 If you’d like to see more ideas using this bundle, pop over to my SU Occasions & SAB 2018 Pinterest Board to see some that I’ve found.

Cheers,
Karen
