Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | In the Spotlight
Happy Australia Day! I hope you’re having a relaxing – and cool – day wherever you are. We’re enjoying the short school week, it makes starting off a new year just a little easier, especially when it’s so hot!!
I can’t believe we’re nearly at the end of the first month of Sale-A-Bration, boy that went fast! I’m starting a new series highlighting some of my favourite, FREE Sale-A-Bration items each week and today I’m starting with the Lots of Lavender stamp set.

This is an 11 piece, photopolymer set that you can earn for FREE if you spend $90+ (before S&H) on other Stampin’ Up! products and was one of my immediate favourites in the Sale-A-Bration brochure because:
- I love lavender,
- there are so many different colouring options that are perfect for this style of image
- it reminded me of one of the images in the Lots of Happy Card Kit and I knew I wanted to make my own versions of those gorgeous cards
I have a few of these images coloured and waiting to used on different projects, but I knew my first one would be inspired by the colours and designs in the Lots of Happy Card Kit.
The layer measurements I used for this card are:
- Thick Whisper White standard card base
- Sahara Sand 9 x 14.3cm
- Pick a Pattern DSP 5.5 x 10.5cm
- Whisper White panel 7 x 10.5cm
I used the lovely script stamp from Background Bits (a host only set) in Sahara Sand ink on my Whisper White panel to create a subtle background for the lavender, I love the vintage feel this gives to my card 🙂
I stamped the lavender in Archival Black ink onto Thick Whisper White cardstock and used my Watercolour Pencils in Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry with a Blender Pen to colour the image.
I fussy cut the flowers out and added a few Vellum leaves, punched with the Lemon Builder Punch behind them to add that lovely soft texture I admired in the card kit. This entire element was popped up with dimensionals on the background panel.
The sentiment is from the Lots of Happy Card Kit, stamped in Archival Black ink and punched out with the Tailored Tag Punch. I added a little Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon to the back and a couple of Glitter Enamel Dots for some sparkle. I added this to my card with dimensionals as well.
I hoped you liked my first project with this lovely set and my first “In the Spotlight” choice. Even though this set is called Lots of Lavender, you can choose any colour for the flowers, I’ve seen them in pinks and blues, which are gorgeous and I think a Calypso Coral version might be calling my name 🙂
Make sure you visit and follow my SU Occasions & SAB 2018 Pinterest Board for even more ideas of how to use this fun set, I add to my boards regularly and it’s a great place to find inspiration.
Cheers,
Karen
