Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | 12 Days of Christmas – Day 4
Welcome to Day 4 of my 12 Days of Christmas series! Today I have another Stamp-a-Stack using the Watercolor Christmas stamp set again that was inspired by a sample in the current Holiday Catalogue. I don’t own the bundle used for the original, but loved the layout, so changed it up with what I did have and dusted off a couple of retired items to achieve the same look 🙂
The sample I’m casing is on page 35 of the Holiday Catalogue and uses the gorgeous Snowflake Sentiments bundle. I loved the use of the plaid paper from the Christmas Around the World DSP with the crisp contrasting white elements and had to make my own simplified version.
I’ve used the same design and colours for my version, but changed the sentiment to one from Watercolor Christmas and used largest snowflakes from the Seasonal Layers Framelits.
The trickiest part to replicate was the white border and I ended up using a retired border punch to achieve a similar look. I think either of our current border punches (Decorative Ribbon Border, item# 143721, Ticket Tear Border, item#143718) would also look amazing – especially the Decorative Ribbon one 🙂
The other retired item I used were the Banners Framelits Dies, this was more for convenience than necessity though, I was already die cutting and this just saved me an extra step. It would be just as easy to hand cut a banner or use the Triple Banner Punch.
The sentiments were stamped in Momento Black ink on Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and then die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I layered all the elements like the sample and added a few White Perfect Accents coloured with a black sharpie for a little shine.
The sentiment circle is popped up for some dimension, but the rest of the card is still quite flat and easy to post 🙂
I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to centre the inside sentiment on a Whisper White panel with a simple layer of Basic Black or Real Red behind. I like how this fills up the inside of the card nicely, with not a lot of room for extra writing 😉
Layers and Dimensions:
- Standard C6 card base – in landscape (10.5 x 14.85cm)
- Whisper White layer (front) 10.5 x 11.5cm
- DSP layer (front) 10.5 x 9.5cm
- Whisper White layer (inside) 9.5 x 13.8cm
- Coloured layer (inside) 10 x 14.3cm
I hope you liked today’s project and are inspired to mix up your products a little to create something you love. I really like my version of Stampin’ Up!’s gorgeous sample, even though it’s not exactly the same all the elements that attracted me to the original are. Make sure to check out the catalogues for loads of inspiration, they’re more than just product books, they’re full of great ideas, tips and tricks as well.
If you’d like to purchase any of the products I used today, please visit my online store. I’d love to be your Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in Australia and remember to use November’s Host Code: VAKN9YVF when you shop with me to receive your Customer Rewards.
