12 Days of Christmas | Day 2

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | 12 Days of Christmas – Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of my 12 Days of Christmas series. Today I have a Stamp-a-Stack style of card to share with you using elements from the gorgeous Quilted Christmas Suite – one of my favourites in this year’s Holiday Catalogue 🙂

December is getting closer and soon it will be time to send out our cards to friends and family, hopefully today’s simple design will help you get them sorted quickly.

Little Paper Party, 12 Days of Christmas 2017, Watercolour Christmas, Quilted Christmas DSP, #1

The Quilted Christmas DSP really does most of the work in these simple cards with an oversized sentiment from Watercolor Christmas as the focal image. I really wanted to “ground” my sentiment on the front of the card and the addition of some Quilted Christmas Ribbon created the illusion of a hanging ornament  – I love how this looks 🙂

A little glimmer from the Gold Glimmer scalloped circle and the gold star on top of the fussy cut tree added the must-have sparkle that I must have on all my Christmas projects 🙂

Little Paper Party, 12 Days of Christmas 2017, Watercolour Christmas, Quilted Christmas DSP, #4

The sentiment was die cut with the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and attached to the glimmer scalloped circle with a generous amount of Tear and Tape. I stamped the sentiment before die cutting to allow some extra space at the top for the bow and to easily centre the words. This layer was then popped up for some dimension, but doesn’t make the card to thick for posting 🙂

The flat ribbon is attached behind the sentiment and Real Red cardstock layer and the bow was tied and attached separately. I’ve found Glue Dots alone aren’t quite strong enough to keep this ribbon in place so I added Tear and Tape to the back of the bow loops as well as a glue dot behind the knot and my bow is definitely not going anywhere.

Little Paper Party, 12 Days of Christmas 2017, Watercolour Christmas, Quilted Christmas DSP, #3

I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to centre the inside sentiment and tree and while this is such an easy tool to use I’m looking forward to the Stamparatus which will make these multiple style cards a breeze 🙂

Layers and dimensions:

  • Standard C6 card base in Thick Whisper White
  • Real Red layers 10 x 14.3cm
  • DSP layer and inside Whisper White layer 9.5 x 13.8cm

I hope you liked today’s project, these are some of my favourite Christmas cards this year and come together really quickly after all the elements are cut.

I’ll be back tomorrow with Day 3 🙂

Please note:  The Gold Glimmer Paper that I used in today’s project is reduced by 10% in the current Online Extravaganza.  Now is the perfect time to stock up 🙂
