Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | 12 Weeks of Halloween – Week 3
I really enjoy creating my own treat holders but sometimes it’s fun to alter something ready-made and that’s the type of project I have to share with you today. I found some sweet little buckets at Kmart recently that were just crying out for a Halloween makeover, so I brought them home, filled and dressed them up and now they’re ready to show off their new look 🙂
I didn’t do too much to the buckets themselves, just added some narrow washi tape to dress them up a little, but I think they’d look just as sweet completely unadorned.
Most of the decoration uses products from the upcoming Holiday Catalogue, they won’t be available to purchase until September 1st, but that’s not too far away now so I didn’t think it was too evil to use them 😉
If you would like a copy of this gorgeous catalogue and don’t have a Demonstrator you usually shop with, just fill out a request form here and I’ll pop one in the post for you.
The rosette was created using a 1″ x 12″ piece of Spooky Night DSP scored @ 1/4″ along the entire length. I adhered a little ribbon and Mini Sequin Trim behind the sentiment for some extra embellishment and used the same ribbon to tie a bow at the top of each Treat Tube.
The sentiment was created using the Spooky Cat stamp set and Everyday Label Punch. To make this skinny label I used a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 1″ wide, this fits perfectly in the centre of the punch and then I re-punched the sentiment to make a just a little shorter.
The skewers I used are from Coles and designed for appetizers, I like them because they’re flat which makes them easy to adhere to things and a couple of glue dots on the base keeps them securely in place in my bucket.
These Treat Tubes are another fun product in the *new* Holiday Catalogue, they’re 4″ x 5/8″ or 10.2 x 1.6cm and perfect for small treats. I was so excited to see these and am looking forward to using them for lots of different projects. I’ve kept these ones very plain with just a ribbon tied at the top as most of them is hidden in the bucket but I have plans for fancier ones in the works 🙂 If you’d like some inspiration check out my Test Tube Ideas Pinterest Board, I’ve found loads of fun ideas so far and will be adding to it regularly.
I added a little decoration to the backs of my rosettes so my favours would look sweet from all sides. The images are all cut from the Spooky Night DSP, the hat and pumpkin were fussy cut but the cat coordinates with the Cat Punch that is in the *new* Holiday Catalogue.
There is an image in the Spooky Cat stamp set that coordinates with this punch and they will be available to purchase together as a discounted bundle. So far this punch has been very popular with Demonstrators and can be used for much, much more than just Halloween. If you’re a cat lover make sure to check it out on p53 and pick it up a.s.a.p. if you want one.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and will come back on Friday to see the Christmas version. I’ll have some different filling ideas to share with you and will package them up so they’re ready to gift or add to your Christmas stall.
