Festive Friday

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Festive Friday

Welcome to the first Festive Friday of 2017. Today I have a Christmas version of the Halloween houses I shared on Wednesday. Now, I have to admit I might have gotten just a little carried away with the decoration on these cuties, but I think the results were well worth the effort 🙂

Little Paper Party, Festive Friday 2017, Home Sweet Home Thinlits, Sweet Home, #2

I created a little gingerbread village this time using Soft Suede for the base of each house with loads of icing and lolly decoration.

The sweets were stamped in Crushed Curry, Emerald Envy, Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red and die cut with the coordinating framelits. While the framelits do die cut more than one of each type, the amount I used on each house took quite a while to cut out and then individually glue on. I enjoy this finicky type of creating but they would look just as effective with simpler decoration and go together much faster.

Each sweet was covered in Wink of Stella to finish it off, it added such a lovely shimmer and really makes them look more like the real thing.

These little houses not only make very special gift boxes but are also perfect for decorating as well. They can be lit up with battery tea light candles, hung from wreaths, trees or garlands or arranged as a mini display – there’s a beautiful sparkly example of this on my SU Home Sweet Home Pinterest Board  that I want to try myself 🙂

I can also see a very sweet Advent calendar with the numbers on each door just waiting to be made as well, hmmm, lots of die cutting coming my way 😉

I found it easier to decorate my houses while they were flat, especially gluing on all those tiny baubles on the roof. I left the back of the house undecorated as it won’t be seen how I’m planning to use them, but you could definitely add more and have them beautiful on all sides.

I hoped you liked my little village today and I promise my other projects won’t be so fiddly – but if you did want to make lots of these, starting now would be a good idea 🙂
