Today I’m playing along with the Global Design Project Challenge #096: C.A.S.E. the Designer – Tanja Kolar. CASEing means to Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit, depending on how you look at it, but basically it’s finding inspiration in someone else’s project and then taking the parts you like eg: layout, colours, stamps etc… and creating your own unique version.

For me, the most important part of this is to give credit where it’s due, it doesn’t take away from awesomeness of your own creation, just gives a thank you to the original designer for the inspiration 🙂

Tanja’s design is the type I envy because I just can’t do it 😦 it’s clean and simple with lovely soft colours and even though that style is completely outside my abilities, I love the card I came up with and am so grateful for the inspiration, I never would have created it otherwise 🙂

I loved the layered squares and the crisp white background of Tanja’s card which are the main elements that I copied on my own. The colours are a bit brighter though, with my stack of presents and balloons from the Birthday Deliver DSP, but I love how they look against the white and the vintage feel to them 🙂

The Birthday Friends Framelits die cut several images from the coordinating BirthdayMemories DSP and I used the balloon, party hat and present on my card today, the other presents were fussy cut from the same sheet and are perfect for this, a few straight lines with just a little extra care needed around the bows 🙂

My stack of presents and balloons were adhered to a Stitched Shapes Framelits square in Whisper White and then a scalloped square of Pool Party, this was popped up the front of the card with dimensionals with a little bannered sentiment from Tabs for Everything tucked under one corner.

Inside has the same layers as the front of the card with a sentiment from the coordinating Birthday Delivery stamp set in Pool Party ink. Another smaller stack of gifts is in one corner and that was enough to finish off this sweet little card 🙂

I hope you liked my project today, I really, really enjoyed making it, I love these layered designs and this DSP does all the hard work for me, I just have to cut and paste 🙂
